Future Leaders Summer Sleepover
Year 12, and first-year FE students
30 places available
Join us for this free summer residential at the University of Essex Colchester campus. This 3-day, 2-night residential event will give students a taste of university life and develop their leadership, negotiation, and critical thinking skills. They will get to experience university life first-hand, from living in halls, to attending workshops, taking part in Student’s Union events.
But that’s not all! They will also get to take part in a Model United Nations (UN) simulation, where they will collaborate with other students to tackle global issues and develop key skills for leadership and life. Learn how to negotiate, compromise, and work together to find solutions to real-world problems.
During the event, students will work with the expert team at Debate Mate to build essential skills for debating, public speaking, and critical thinking. You’ll learn how to communicate your ideas effectively, build confidence, and develop resilience – all qualities that are essential for future leaders.
Successful applicants will:
- Live like a uni student
- Explore the campus
- Build debating skills with the Debate Mate team’s interactive sessions and games
- Discover your inner leader and take part in a Model UN
- Take part in fun evening activities
- Work with student ambassadors
- Make your CV and university applications glow!
