Join Make Happen and Made for an evening of free study skills sessions at The Forum Southend. These sessions are suitable for current students aged 16+ whether you are studying a BTEC or A levels at a college or sixth form or whether you are a mature student studying a level 3 qualification e.g. an access course.

For over 10 years Made training has been empowering students to harness their own creativity, to develop a personal approach to studying and revision and to recognise that progress comes through focused effort.

Independent Learning 4.30-5.30pm

What is independent learning? Independent learning is when you are able to think, act and pursue your own studies autonomously, without the same level of support you receive from teachers. We will share a range of techniques and strategies which you can use to organise your time, exercise self-control and design an effective study zone. With this knowledge and practice, we will put you in the driving seat of your studies.

Advanced Note-Taking 5.45-6.45pm

This compact workshop will show you how to become an active reader and how to apply the Cornell Method for taking efficient and effective notes; a technique that will serve you well as you progress on to higher levels of study.
