Your Future Summer School 2026

Our Summer School is a free, non-residential programme where you’ll spend five days at our flagship Docklands campus exploring subjects, developing skills, and meeting new people.

You can expect:

• Hands-on academic taster sessions
• Practical workshops to get you HE Ready, Future Ready, and Career Ready
• Opportunities to meet academics and learn from their expertise
• A chance to work on a creative project and share your ideas
• Real experience of university life at UEL

For students travelling within London, travel expenses will be reimbursed by UEL up to a total £25 following the Summer School, subject to the eligibility criteria and appropriate evidence and attendance across the 5 days (exceptional circumstances apply).

For students travelling from Essex, travel expenses will be covered by Make Happen prior to the Summer School, subject to the eligibility criteria and and attendance across the 5 days (exceptional circumstances apply).

The Summer School is open to students who:

• Are resident in the UK and year 12/FE1 and 16-17 years old.
• Have permission from their school or college to attend the Summer School during term time.
• Have permission from their parents/guardians to attend the Summer School during term time.

Everyone is welcome at the University of East London; however, this Summer School prioritises students who are underrepresented in higher education.

Priority will also be given to students studying at schools or colleges in the following areas: Newham, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forest, Hackney, and Essex (including Southend on Sea, Basildon or Thurrock).
