New mentoring opportunities for year 10 to 13 students with Brightside

We’re working with Brightside on the Online Mentoring Programme, a flexible, free online opportunity for you to speak to a mentor with experience of higher education and the work place.

Using the safe and secure mentoring app, you can set aside time at your own pace to engage in a meaningful conversation with someone who can guide you through different education and career pathways.

This opportunity is completely flexible. It’s a text-based messaging app with no requirements for video calls or live chat, directly accessible from your phone.

Why take part?

  • To receive 1:1, tailored and bespoke support about your future from someone with experience of careers and higher education.
  • To have an open conversation about your ideas, hopes and aspirations with someone who is there to listen and provide advice, not judge.
  • To develop your communication and research skills, as you engage in a meaningful conversation and learn more about different pathways

Find out more about yourself and where your interests could take you.

How it works
Step One: Enter your details on this Expression of Interest form and wait for Brightside or Make Happen to get in touch
Step Two: Attend an online or recorded induction to help create your account and choose the mentor that’s right for you
Step Three: Exchange meaningful messages with your mentor for 12-16 weeks, ask questions and get 1:1 bespoke advice and guidance

Applications open Monday 8 February 2021.
